Blogger's new user format seems a bit buggy and I have trouble writing up new posts. I threw a single word "test" (because I am polite), published the "test" post, and then reverted to draft so that I can edit and write. So if you checked in earlier and found no new post, it's Blogger's fault and not mine.
I am behaving like I have PMS. Oh right, I do. No wonder I have an urge to write.
And why Blogger change my ".com" to ".sg"??? Why must insist the whole world know I am from Singapore? WHY??? I am a Second Life avatar afterall mah, I want pretend to be more international, can?
Which, brings us irrelevantly to my topic today. A Singaporean acquaintance in SL told my not-so-new-by-now Singaporean friend that Singaporeans are so "straight" in SL and talking to them is like returning to RL. Therefore, he prefers not to mingle as much with our bunch.
He was just stating an observation and not being horrid. But dude, where do you want to escape to?
And why you think Singaporeans so "straight" that we are limited to RL har?
Hellooo, I am a vampire-lycan-hybrid and I breed prims that eat up all my lindens! I build houses and furniture! Or at least, I texture prims and link them together. Do you think I can ever be a carpenter in RL?

I can't think of anything "straight" (other than sexual orientation but that is another story) or RL-like in our SLifes, thank you very much. Not scolding you hor, just pointing out that we have what you are looking for. If you simply don't like Singlish, I can recite the Tibetan alphabet. I am only not willing to be your Gorean slave though you can be mine.

At the end of the day, we can't run from who we are. Roleplay or not, our RL personalities and burdens seep in and determine what we choose to be in SL. I am not pointing fingers, just stating an observation too.

Gorean? Me? Are you sure?
An aspect of SL that has always fascinated me is the Gorean RP. However, I didn't mention it because I decided to let other things distract me. I didn't do Gor for a few reasons.
1. I don't do SLex. I know I know, Gorean RP is not all SLex. I am just answering the stereotype. I can still RP as a free woman, but free women sounds about as interesting as the statistics I generate monthly on a deadline at work.
2. The limited research I've been able to do on Gorean RP makes it sound like an intensive commitment that I cannot afford.
3. I suck at RP. (I joined a bloodlines horde and turned into a vampire-lycan hybrid only to end up breeding a farm of KittyCatS in their SIM.) (Between Karen and I, we have about 100 of those Linden-eating monsters but we just can't quit. If you think that bloodlines is the horror story of SL, try breedables.) (Sashia still loves me, cats and all.) (I've digressed.)
4. At one point, I got interested enough to create an alt to "test waters" in Gor. I got as far as dressing her up. After that, I didn't know where to start. *ahem*
And then... fast forward to about 2 weeks ago.
Thomaas is a Singaporean (yes, the rare creature!) Gorean RP-er. He approached and invited me to RP with him as a free woman. But while I watched him attempt to persuade more Singaporeans to start a Gorean RP group with him, questions started forming in my mind. What do we say to each other for our lines?
As everyone (SL Singapore group) bantered easily with each other, I tried out the first few lines that came to mind.
Tashi Core throws up both hands and cry father cry mother, "O, Tee-gong! Please help me! My life berry bitter! I need to strike toto!"
I managed to shut everyone up for a few seconds. Then the conversation continued like I had never interrupted. And I continued like I had never interrupted.
("4D also can. Please, Tee-gong?")
I'll just say that I was able to exit that conversation without getting hammered, because SL Singaporeans are mostly awesome. And I won't tell you how cheesy those lines really are, because SL Singaporeans are mostly awesome and they won't give me away. :D
It struck me then that I should not be making up my lines on the spot until I am familiar with the Gorean environment, so I went googling for Gorean scripts. I am not one to be deterred. You are welcome.
And I found this website. Unfortunately, I didn't get past the first 2 quotes about slaves because I had to clean up the coffee I spat over my keyboard.
Now that I'm done with the cleaning, let's take a look at what I found:
1. "It is strange," he said, "I have faced sleen and the steel of fierce enemies. I am a warrior, and am high among warriors. Yet you, a mere girl, would conquer me with a smile and a tear." ~ (Slave Girl of GOR , page 424)

Crack me up a year late.
My brother broke a foot in March last year. Being a... guy, he posted a disgusting photo of his dirty bandaged foot on fb immediately, which I will spare you from. Ok ok, because I am lazy.
The subsequent story went something like this:
Me: wa kao! only few hours never see you you become like that.
Bro: many things can happen within dat few hours u know??
Me: ya, can tell.
Friend 1: bro.. Wat happened to u?
Bro: Kicked my leg against the sofa real hard.. =p
Friend 1: i noe how it feel like... last time i accidentally kicked my leg against the divider in the carpark, toe nail split.. pain for few days.. ouch
...
Epilogue - One Year Later (yesterday)
Friend 2 (who apparently lives in Australia and goes by the nickname of panda): how the hell did you kick it so hard it broke?!?!
Bro: Dear panda, u responded more than a year late.. Australia lagging or u lagging?? =D
Friend 2: pssh i only just saw the photo! still! it's something curious, how come you kick so hard one wah lau
Friend 3: wah lao..brother, next time i buy a football for u if u wanna kick something. haha...:) hope u have recovered le ya.

Life in Singapore...
Today is the last day of the Chinese New Year, which is also the Chinese Valentine's day. I am having a date with my best bud R after work, but we didn't realise what the day is when we planned it. :)
Yes, R is single. And very available. And prettier than me. No joke. Any interested guys? :D We are trying so hard to "market" her but she's shy. :p
I work in an all-female dept, so one would think that it gets all girly and romantic in here for our cultural Valentine's day.
But it seems my girls prefer lottery. :p

Xylia's Portrait, and more RL Distraction
She was really designed with a lycan in mind, and the name "Xylia" means "of the forest". :/ Oh well, vampires can be of the forest too, right? :D
Xylia looks a little like Tashi but her facial features are slightly rounder and she is much smaller in size. The idea was to make her look cute but dress up a little wild. And I had better success in planning her appearance than Vivienne's, though Vivienne turned out really pretty.

I want more stuff, and more stuff!
Cyrenia Snow (L$400) from Kouse's Sanctum is the next dress I am coveting. Yep, I am a sucker (and a totally outdated one) for non-wedding whites. *sniffs*
I also have a fetish for symmetrical long black hair. Thanks to Yovsweetbabe, I've already gotten my hands on a couple of hair that are still my favourites.
Now I am eyeing thick updos. I found Sky Everett's Designs for Kiera (L$495) and Sovereign (L$600) very appealing. (I couldn't find Kiera in Sky Everett's photostream so I used Mui Mukerji's pic instead.) I am especially considering Kiera as it ischeapermore versatile for use.
I think I am going to bust my budget again. *sniffs sniffs*
